Teodoro ~ 2021 Chestnut gelding

Teodoro de Halconero ~ 2021 Chestnut 3/4 Lusitano stud colt

(Sold. Is goning to Chicago!)

Out of Sabella Sired by Notorio de Halconero he is 3/4 Lusitano 1/4 Quarter Horse.

Teodoro (meaning “Divine Gift” in Spanish). He is a very well built, extremely friendly and personable young horse. His mother “Sabella” was extremely friendly also, practically from the day she was born.
Alazne ( his grandmother) was my first Lusitano horse. An exceptional mare, the kind you can trust with your life. I have jumped on her bareback, out in the pasture, with absolutely nothing on her head and cantered her home to get some tools for a broken down machine out in the pasture. This type of thing you just don’t do with the average horse. She is a one in a million horse, and I think he will be one also.

Very responsive and with agility and determination Teodoro would excel in a competitive lifestyle.
Combining beauty, athleticism, graceful movement and natural cow sense, the Lusitano/QH. is ideally suited for Working equitation, Western Dressage, Vaquero style riding and any activity requiring balance and athleticism

He has had a ton of handling, so is very personable and easily to handle.
With all the ‘people-ization’ he has had he is primed to start with the saddle level when he is old enough!

Classical dressage trainer, & equestrian writer “Sylvia Loch” says in her book “The Royal Horse of Europe” that this type of horse was prized by the royalty and used in battle where courage, collection & instant responsiveness, to their rider, was a matter of life or death.

In my experience, the Lusitano horse is the finest of mounts, with disposition, conformation & soundness unparalleled, whether you are interested in working cattle, working equitation or just an exceptional riding companion. The working equitation videos of “Pedro Torres” & liberty work of Lorenzo ( videos are on YouTube ) are an amazing example of the train-ability, collection & coordination that this style of horse naturally has. If you have never trained or ridden a Lusitano horse, then you don’t know what you are missing.
